There was a review from several years ago by glenn dale laylo that still applies today: cozy, friendly, tasty (and easy on an American tourist). Too hot to enjoy the nice outside space but inside is nice too. Highly recommended for coffee and breakfast

This is my second year visiting this lovely café while staying in Kyoto, and it continues to be one of my favorite stops. The same friendly staff from last year are still here, and you can really feel the care they put into their work. They serve a simple but wonderful breakfast set for 930 yen (cash only), available until 11am. It’s nourishing, delicious, and exactly the kind of start you want to your day. If you’re staying around Nagashiyama and have cash on hand, this place is absolutely worth a visit. What makes it extra special is the atmosphere. While I was enjoying breakfast, I could see the trees outside starting to change colors—from green to red—even though it was still early October. It was a beautiful and unexpected touch to the morning. Highly recommend stopping here, not just for the food but also for the warm people and lovely setting.

It was a rainy and gloomy day in Kyoto when we stumped upon this lovely little coffee shop. It's old school Japanese/ western style cafe which has a very special atmosphere. We ordered one bread set and one matcha parfait. Both were AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS. Even though we couldn't speak Japanese we managed to communicate with the staff. They played jazz music inside the shop, which is another plus!!

Overall experience was good However I felt a bit limited in the food options. But the dishes themselves were good, just a bit small. I would consider this place a nice light breakfast.
